There's something so refreshing about the start of a new year. New beginnings are one of our favorites things at Maude - new semester, new seasons, new arrivals, new opportunities - they all fill us with optimism. The very act of imagining new plans, regimens, outfits, and practices makes us a little giddy!
So it is with New Years resolutions. We know it seems kind of cliche to have fitness goals because it might not stick some of the time, but why not be cliche if it's going to motivate you?
I think it's safe to say that all of us struggle with some form of stress in our lives. Whether it's your class load, kids, or even something as small as spilling coffee on your white shirt (isn't this the worst?). Whatever it is, we've all been there and we're here to tell you it's okay because there are things we can do to take some stress out of your life and be stylish while doing so.
Any form of exercise is an amazing way to de-stress whether it's running, swimming, or yoga. We're into anything that can help us get through our busy week! There are so many benefits to exercise, like strength building, flexibility, increase blood flow and our favorite, mindfulness. Try to go at least once a week or honestly whenever you just really need some "you" time.

Statement layered necklaces have been around for awhile, but they’re the ultimate spring-jewelry staple. Pair them up with a feminine dress or lightweight top and you’re good to go. So easy and chic, but most importantly LOUD.
Versatile romper? Yes, please. I’ll take 5! In fact, I stocked up on a few for upcoming outings this summer. They’re sexy, yet elegant – which to me, is the perfect combo. Too much sexy is way too much, so this option is a great middle ground.
Still shopping for the perfect sandals that you can sport during the spring AND summer? Do yourself a favor and grab a pair of Maude sandals. Actually grab maybe 3 (every pair pictured obviously).
As noted by several fashion influencers, printed bandanas are officially the new flower crowns. It’s not festival fashion without a coveted bandana. I honestly never would’ve thought that these bad boys would make a comeback, but they look awesome. I may or may not have bought some for myself, because priorities.
Straw hats are a must-have in my closet. Not only do I wear them in the spring and summer, but I most certainly have my heart set on this versatile option year round. They go perfectly with some cute booties, so it’s an easy piece to pull a look together.
Denim shorts are any summer must-have, but these take denim shorts to the next level. The more fringe and distress, the better!
Naturally, next are shoes. These aren’t only for music festivals, ladies. Pair your favorite set with a lovely dress (or anything really) for a pulled-together spring look. I love that all of these options are so versatile because what can I say, I’m a shoe girl!

We would like to share our looks from this year's NWAFW. This year we went with an earth tone palette, going for an almost desert meets safari theme. With this years spring lines, you can embrace the earth tones into your style. It looks like the trend this year is being inspired by the natural beauty around us. Earth tones are very natural but are also very sexy. Since we are each made up of mostly earth tones – like our skin, our hair, and our lips, wearing this palette brings out our individual qualities and compliments each of our skin tones. It can also look homespun, cheerful, warm and soft depending on the fabric, the cut of the fabric, or what you pair with it as earth tones breathe delicacy.
